Ontario Pork’s Pig Mobile is a popular traveling animal display that gives Ontario consumers the opportunity to experience pigs in real life, without the biosecurity worries of on-farm visits.
Consumers love being able to see live pigs but they also love being able to talk with a people who work with animals That’s where Ontario Pork Hambassadors come in! We rely on farmers and industry partners to staff the Pig Mobile at Ontario events throughout the year.

2023 Hambassador Spring Training Recap
A sincere thank you to everyone that attended our Hambassador Spring Training in Elora on April 3, 2023.

Past Hambassador Training with Emma Payne, Charity Veldhuizen, Jaden Terpstra, Mary Ann Found and Ron Douglas discussing their experiences engaging the public at events like the CNE, RAWF and Fairs with the Pig Mobile. The conversation ranges from conversation starters to dealing with animal activists.
Keynote Address with Christina Crowley-Arklie Christina is the founder and digital communications strategist behind Guelph-based business, Crowley + Arklie Strategy & Co., providing communications and digital marketing services and strategy, corporate training and online courses to help brands, businesses and individuals in
communicating their why.
They’ve worked with clients in agriculture-food, pubic sector, not-for-profit, technology, trades and consumer packaged goods, from small business to agencies, start-ups to fortune 500 companies.
With a particular interest and a number of clients in Canadian agriculture and food, Christina is on a mission to transform the way we communicate in agriculture-food and beyond.
Raised on her family’s fifth generation dairy farm in rural Ontario, Christina is an active advocate for Canada’s food system and an engaged community volunteer. Christina has been recognized as a Top 40 under 40 by the city of Guelph, as a 10x10 Alumni with Impact by the University of Guelph's College of Business & Economics, was a proud founding Leadership team member of Ag Women's Network.
On the weekends, you can find Christina with her husband and three children in the country at their cottage helping with chores on the family farm.

The Necessary Paperwork
Ontario Pork offers a per diem to qualifying Hambassadors. It covers payment for your time spent educating consumers at the Pig Mobile (half and full days), your mileage to and from the event, parking and admission. When you arrive at the event look for the sign-in book and complete the fields accurately. To receive payment, submit an expense form including the date and name of the event, hours worked, mileage and any additional costs (with receipts).
All payments over $130 are subject to statutory deductions (income tax and CPP) and must be reported on a T4, as per Canada Revenue regulations.
If you are new to helping with the Pig Mobile, you’ll also need to complete a New Casual Employee form.
