Evaluation and improvement of Streptococcus suis bacterins in sows

This is the first controlled experimental study conducted to compare the effect of six different commercial adjuvants, widely used in animal vaccine production, on S. suis vaccine efficacy. Taken together, the results from our study indicate that the type of adjuvant formulation has paramount importance on the efficacy and protection of bacterin-based vaccines against S. suis.
